Who are "Las Chicas del Café"?

Valeria (3 yrs old) and Maria (6yrs old) helping dad with the construction of the first school in the mountain community of Miramar.
Las Chicas del Café, Spanish for “The Coffee Chicks”, is simply who we are. Coffee has defined our family for four generations, Our relationship with coffee began as we took our first steps on coffee patios and ran through coffee plantations in our back yard. As the daughters of a third generation coffee grower coffee has always been a part of our lives. Our name also pays tribute to the women involved in coffee production. Traditionally women play a very integral part in coffee quality as they are the pickers of the coffee cherries and the perfect bean sorters.
Las Chicas women are traditionally who hand pick the coffee cherries.
Las Chicas del café, vow to bring to light the sensitive trade, environment and production issues faced by coffee growers everyday. We will not compromise the sustainability of coffee growers in the name of economic success. It is our moral duty to carry and market coffees that can stand on the three legs of sustainability; social, environmental and economic.
Maria (20 months old) and dad. One of the family’s favourite playing areas: the drying coffee patios.
Our father, Reynaldo Fiallos, is the founder, producer and processor for AromaNica Coffees, and, now as roasters ourselves, we are delighted to join in his efforts for sustainability. Every year we will strive to bring you the best coffees from all over the world, and honour those growers who have passionately produced such exquisite coffees.
Three generations of coffee lovers: Grandpa, dad, Maria & Valeria.
We want you to think of coffee as one of the finest pleasures in life, because our coffees have been produced and processed from plantation to cup with the outmost respect for quality and taste, and they deserve each one of your uhmms and ahhhhs!
